I just got my bill in the mail for my car insurance and there has got to be something cheaper out there, this is nuts! I’ve called a couple of the local numbers from the yellow pages but they’re all in the same price range, which is no big difference from where I am now!

I’ve poked around online but I’m just not sure what I’d be getting myself into if I “asked for a quote” by filling in some form. Is this a cause for worry? I don’t want to get scammed or end up with a bad insurance company.

Hey Tom I feel your pain-I was there myself awhile back when I needed to find cheap car insurance Phoenix! No worries though, the internet has come a long way in just a few short years. Most all of the major carriers are advertising online and this is causing quite a bit of competition between the big companies and the small ones. And better yet, most well known companies will even provide online comparisons side by side with other carriers. This will save you a ton of time in researching your options so you can determine if a better deal can be had by going online or going local. We both know that its preferred to know the name of your agent and have a relationship, but not if they’re going to take advantage of you!

I’ve found a couple of companies that offer free quotes (you can click on the banner just below this comment) that you can use to check out their offers against what you said you found locally. If there is no savings, at least now you are more informed. But if there are savings to be had, check out the company and you can even Google their ratings.
